Uvalde man sentenced to maximum 20 years in federal prison for receipt of child pornography
In Del Rio Thursday afternoon, 35-year-old Juan Ramon Gutierrez of Uvalde, TX, was sentenced to the statutory maximum of 20 years in federal prison for receipt of child pornography announced United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr., and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent in Charge Shane Folden, San Antonio Division.
AUTHORITIES ARREST 24 IN MAVERICK AND ZAVALA COUNTIES ON FEDERAL CHARGES
Federal, state and local authorities have arrested 24 individuals in Maverick and Zavala counties based on federal drug trafficking and money laundering charges announced United States Attorney Richard L. Alleged Sinaloa Cartel Operator Mauricio Sanchez-Garza Extradited from Mexico to Face Federal Charges in San Antonio
In San Antonio Tuesday afternoon, 45-year-old Mexican National Mauricio Sanchez-Garza made his initial appearance in federal court following his extradition from Mexico. Sanchez is charged by two federal grand jury indictments in the Western District of Texas with laundering drug distribution proceeds and committing extortion in a scheme involving a Hollywood screenplay. That announcement was made Tuesday by United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr.; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Joseph M. Arabit, Houston Division; Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent in Charge Shane Folden; Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge William Cotter; and, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
